Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell visits The Star

Candace Bushnell visited Australia for an exclusive tour with Business Chicks, Australia’s largest community for women. She kicked off the tour in Perth and visited Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne over the last week and finished the tour with two events in Sydney, including one at The Star’s Cherry cocktail lounge on 25 July.

Throughout her tour she shared lunch with 4,200 women and a few lucky men. She shared the stories that inspired the phenomenon that is Sex and the City, the struggles she experienced as a young writer and what it’s like to inspire two generations of women through her stories. She is the critically-acclaimed, international best-selling author of Sex and the City, The Carrie Diaries, One Fifth Avenue, Lipstick Jungle and many more. Through her seven books, top-rating television series and blockbuster movies, Candace’s work has influenced and defined two generations of women. Cupcakes, cosmos and Manolos were thrown into the spotlight by Sex and the City, but Candace also made it OK to talk about taboo topics such as gay marriage, sex toys, adoption, cancer and single working mums.
